About the Project

Trained manpower is the basic requirement of Garment/Apparel Industry. The requirement of trained manpower in the industry can be met only by providing effective training. For Garment/Apparel Sector, ISD Scheme (Component-II) is a skill development initiative of the Ministry of Textile, Govt. of India (MoT). Objectives of the project are as follows-

• To enhance the competitiveness of Indian Apparel Industry globally by providing them skilled manpower.

 • To provide livelihood opportunities through new employment in Apparel Industry and related self employment opportunities.

• To reduce the skill gap in the Industry.

Geographical locations covered under this project are states of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. The physical target of project is 15,000 trainees to be trained in a time frame of 3 years. Out of the total 15,000 candidates minimum 60% are proposed to be placed in the Industry. However, we would strive to ensure around 80% placement of the trained candidates.
